Gray langurs or Hanuman langurs

#Photography #nature #photos : Gray langurs or Hanuman langurs, the most widespread langurs of South Asia, are a group of Old World monkeys constituting the entirety of the genus Semnopithecus as traditionally defined, though genetic evidence suggests at least the Nilgiri and Purple-faced Langurs also belong in this genus.
Gray langur or Simia entellusGray langurs are large and fairly terrestrial, inhabiting forest and wildlife, open lightly wooded habitats, and urban areas on the Indian subcontinent. Most species are found at low to moderate altitudes, but in the Himalayas the Nepal Gray Langur and Kashmir Gray Langur occur up to 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level.
The name Hanuman langur was used to refer to several of these now separated species in Nature. They were formerly considered as subspecies of a single species, Semnopithecus entellus. In 2001 it was recommended that seven species should be recognized, though alternative treatments with fewer species exists.
